Emre Utkucan graduated from the Department of International Relations at Bilgi University in 2003 and started his MA in Political Science and International Relations also at Bilgi University. After graduating in 2010, he received his Master of Arts (MA) and pursued an his academic career. He commenced his career as an editor and writer at manaton.com.tr in 1998, and worked as Editor-in-Chief at Misli.com in 1999. In 1998, he also worked as a football commentator for Lig TV in Europe. He has commented in many World leagues such as Argentina, Brazil, Spain, England, France. In 2012, upon the call of Fatih Terim, in January 2013 he officially assumed the responsibility of the Galatasaray Scout team and the player monitoring committee. One year later, performance analysis was linked to Emre Utkucan and he was appointed as the head of that particular team. He has been working at Galatasaray SK for 7 years as Scouting and Performance Analysis Manager. He resigned from his positions as a TV commentator and Misli.com 2 years ago. He lives in Caddebostan with her cat Paco. He is interested in general culture, history, geography, anthropology, reading books, music and cinema. In addition to his advanced level of English, he has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish at beginner levels. He has been a football lover since childhood. He founded his own football team at the age of 11 and received sponsorship and uniform advertising from his father's company. He was both the technical director and the president of the team. He has developed himself in this field by reading books on football tactics since his childhood. He is a member of Grand Club and Galatasaray Club. He has been a member of Galatasaray Club for 19 years.
